My dear friend asked for this recipe on instagram this afternoon, I could not even imagine that it was not on the blog already. How could I forget to post this amazing nutty yummy recipe.

This recipe is so easy, healthy and very filling- it can be enjoyed with milk, smoothie or yoghurt. It is the perfect breakfast cereal.

Hey Sis, here you go!

 

 

INGREDIENTS      6 Servings

  • Rolled oats (quick oats works as well)     4 cups
  • Peanuts (other nuts work as well)           1-2 cups
  • Honey (or agave/ golden syrup)                1/2 cup
  • Nutmeg (or cinnamon, mace, vanilla)           1 tsp

 

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180C for 10 minutes. Mix 1 cup of nuts with 4 cups of oats, 1/2 cup of honey and 1 teaspoon of nutmeg.

 

Step 2

Spread out the mixture on oven tray (cover the tray with foil or parchment paper). Place in the oven to cook for 20minutes; stirring intermittently (every 5minutes).

Alternatively, cook in a frying pan on low/ medium heat, stirring every 3 minutes so the flavour is even and to prevent burning.

 

Step 3

Allow to cool. You can add some dried fruits. Store in an airtight container. Consume within 2weeks for the crunchiest and freshest gastronomic experience.
