Valentine Appetizers

If you are passionate about love like me, you probably would have read “The 5 love languages” by Gary Chapman (if you have not, you should get your hands on it ASAP). If you have read the book, I am officially informing you that Food is the 6th love language- don’t worry I will get Gary Chapman to include it in a revised edition soonest… Better believe it!

Friday is Valentine’s Day which basically means we have a Valentine weekend. What better way to make it spicy and romantic than thoughtful food; I mean, I am a foodie… most of you are- or you would probably not be reading about food 😉  So, this time I thought to let mini gorgeous canape sliders do the talking.

This recipe is very to make and can be put in 20 minutes- perfect way to start the weekend loving…

Slide in…

INGREDIENTS                                         6 Servings

  • Mini bread rolls (mini buns would work as well)                     6
  • Yajinnaise                                                           6 tbsps
  • Tomatoes                                                            6 slices
  • Spinach (or your favourite greens)                             a handful
  • Pork stuffing balls(cooked- meatballs work as well)           6

Step 1

Preheat your oven at 180C for 5 minutes. In this time, make your thoughtful skewers (directions are below the recipe).

Step 2

Half your mini bread rolls. Warm the halves for 2 Minutes to get them warm and fresh. Generously spread yajinnaise sauce; using a tablepoon per roll on the inside part of each half. Layer the bottom half with spinach (or favourite green), top with a slice of tomato and a piece of stuffing ball. Complete the sliders with the top half.

Step 3

Secure the sliders with your thoughtful skewer sticks. Go show love!

THOUGHTFUL SKEWERS

All you need is paper, glue, bamboo skewers and pen to write yout thoughts.

Write your thought on each paper, leaving some space at the beginning edge to glue your thoughts to the skewers. Allow your glue to dry- paper should be firmly secure on each skewer.

There you Go!
